CPI (M) in Andhra Pradesh to stage protest on February 16 against State and Union government policies

The CPI (M)‘s Srikakulam district president D. Govinda Rao stated that the party plans to organize a protest on February 16 to address the issue of denial of Special Category Status (SCS) and other benefits to Andhra Pradesh. He accused the Union government of displaying a neglectful attitude towards AP by not fulfilling the assurances made in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

“The BJP, which was unsuccessful in securing seats in the 2019 general elections in the State, has developed animosity towards the people of AP. This is the primary reason for halting the special funds allocated for the North Andhra region by the UPA government. Srikakulam has suffered the most from the cessation of funds. Unfortunately, the AP government has remained silent in response to the injustice faced by AP. This is why we are opposing both governments,” stated Mr. Govinda Rao.
