Vishwak Sen beats Gopichand in AP/TS showdown

It has been reported by leading distributors that young actor Viswak Sen has exceeded the box office collections of his colleague Gopichand on the first day in both Telugu states. One distributor mentioned, “Gaami has achieved over Rs 3.5 crore in openings on the first day, while ‘Bhimaa’ has garnered Rs 2.5 crores, putting Viswak ahead of his colleague currently.” The distributor added, “Gaami performed well in A centers as the young audience flocked to theaters to see Viswak Sen in a new role, while Gopichand struggled to attract similar audiences as he played a cop.”

Viswak Sen ventured into an experimental film and received strong support from industry heavyweights. Renowned director S S Rajamouli tweeted about the film, and rising director Sandeep Vanga Reddy attended the pre-release event to praise Vishwak and his team. The distributor noted, “Gaami generated pre-release buzz due to its unique content, which translated into good collections on the first day. However, it still has a long way to go to make back its investments.”

On the other hand, Gopichand’s struggles at the box office continue as his film failed to draw audiences, promoted as a supernatural cop story. The distributor stated, “While there was some initial buzz for a few screenings, the mixed response has affected its collections for subsequent shows. Without a quick pick-up in collections, the film will face challenges in recovering its investments in the Telugu states.”
