At Android Authority, we have eagerly awaited the arrival of Qi2 technology on our Android phones. Faster wireless charging and magnets may be a welcome addition to everyday life, but relying solely on wireless charging may not be practical due to its slower and less efficient nature, as well as the heat it generates causing phones to throttle power to prevent overheating.
The solution, however, is surprisingly simple: fans and built-in cooling systems. By dissipating heat away from the phone, wireless chargers can remain cool and efficient, allowing phones to charge faster.
ESR showcased two chargers at IFA 2024 featuring “2nd-gen CryoBoost,” an open duct system with a fan for active cooling. This new airflow design promises to maintain peak charging speeds and fully charge an iPhone 15 Pro Max in just two hours, which is at least 30 minutes faster than other Qi2 chargers. The fans are quiet, with noise levels below a whisper at a distance of 5 ft, making them suitable for use in various settings.
These chargers come in two models: a car charger available in three colors and a 3-in-1 desk charger with a 15W Qi2 tilted stand, a 5W wireless charging pad, and an Apple Watch charger. The Apple Watch module is removable and can be replaced with a third-party mini USB-C charger for other smartwatches.
As for pricing, the exact details are not available yet, but the ESR chargers are expected to be released on Amazon soon. Stay tuned for updates and consider investing in these innovative chargers for a more efficient charging experience.
