Volunteers rescue climber stranded on small ledge in Sierra Nevada near Mammoth Lakes

“Any fall would almost certainly be fatal,” a volunteer team said after they carried out a more than 15-hour operation to rescue a climber who got off route near Mammoth Lakes, California, and was stranded on a small 6-inch ledge.
