Pop star Britney Spears deactivated her Instagram account on Friday, November 17, but returned the following Sunday. This isn’t the first time the 41-year-old has done this—in fact, she deactivated in October as well, just a few days before the release of her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”
The last post before her account was disabled was a throwback dancing video from April, where Britney mentioned she would be holding back on posting for a while.
On Sunday night, she posted a video of herself pole dancing in a drawstring bikini, set to her own song, “Breathe On Me.” In the caption, she explained her reluctance to use her own songs on Instagram.
Her memoir “The Woman In Me” was released on October 24, and has since become a best-seller, sparking interest from Hollywood stars like Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, and Shonda Rhimes in adapting it into a movie. Although there have been complications with securing the rights, it seems that Britney is not yet ready to adapt her memoir into a visual medium.
