Accessing Google Drive and OneDrive files made easy with ChatGPT’s Context Connector

Calvin Wankhede from Android Authority reports that OpenAI is currently working on a new feature called Context Connector for ChatGPT. This feature will initially support Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, allowing ChatGPT Plus users to seamlessly feed files directly from these online services without the need to download and reupload the files. ChatGPT is a powerful tool, and once users learn how to utilize it effectively, it can be an invaluable resource.

For ChatGPT Plus subscribers, this feature will enable them to enhance their experience by uploading files and asking the AI assistant questions based on the data within the files. For individuals who rely heavily on online storage solutions, such as Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, the Context Connector feature will provide a convenient way to interact with ChatGPT.

Early previews of this feature, shared by user legit_rumors, showcase how the feature seamlessly integrates with Google Drive, OneDrive Personal, and OneDrive Business, making it easy to access files stored in these services through ChatGPT. TestingCatalog notes that while these Context Connectors are functional within ChatGPT, they are not yet publicly available.

By selecting a connector, users can access an online file browser similar to those found in Google Drive and Office 365. This integration will be particularly beneficial for those who frequently attach files to ChatGPT and store data online as it eliminates the need to download and reupload files.

While there are hints of integration with Nothing in the code, it appears that this feature has not been fully implemented. The rollout of the Context Connector feature for ChatGPT is anticipated, offering a more streamlined experience for users who rely on online storage solutions.

As of now, these Context Connectors are not live, and users will have to wait for OpenAI to officially announce and release the feature.
