Accident Case Involving Son: Former Bodhan MLA Identified as Accused

Hyderabad city police have named former Bodhan MLA Shakil Aamir as one of the accused, following his son Raheel Shakil’s escape to the UAE. The Panjagutta police have also included the names of three other individuals who assisted in the accused’s escape from the country.

The FIR filed by the police states that a former BRS MLA was accused in a case involving his son, who allegedly crashed his car into a police barricade in front of Praja Bhavan at Somajiguda last month. The accused was reportedly intoxicated at the time and was taken to the Panjagutta police station, where he was released, and another person was falsely accused in his place.

Following alerts from concerned citizens, the police higher-ups ordered an investigation which revealed that the local CI, Durga Rao, had colluded with the former MLA. As a result, Rao was suspended and the case was handed over to ACP S R Nagar, Y Venkateshwar Rao for further investigation. Raheel had managed to escape to Dubai after the incident.

The police have identified 10 individuals, including Aamir Shakil, who assisted Raheel in escaping to Dubai, all of whom have been cited as accused in the case.
