Delhi, Feb 25: The Singapore Airshow 2021, where the Indian Air Force’s Sarang Helicopter Team participated, concluded at the Changi Exhibition Centre.
During the 20th edition of the show, the Sarang team showcased their skills. The team first participated in the Asian Aerospace Show in February 2004 with three helicopters. Over the years, the team has grown to include four helicopters, and now, they have five helicopters as part of their fleet.
The Sarang team’s primary focus is on HADR – Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief. They have been involved in various rescue missions, including providing relief material during natural disasters like in Uttarakhand in 2013. The team has demonstrated their capabilities by carrying out relief operations effectively.
Apart from their HADR missions, the Sarang team has also been active in rescue operations in cities like Chennai, Dindigul, Tirupati, and Nellore. Their efforts in providing assistance during emergencies have been commendable.
Known for their expertise in aviation, the Indian Air Force’s Sarang Team consists of both helicopter and fighter pilots. They are also looking to acquire Transport Aircraft (C-295) to enhance their capabilities.
