Ali Wong has officially filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Justin Hakuta, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The actress listed their date of separation as April 10, 2022, and requested joint legal and physical custody of their two daughters. She also asked for their prenup to be enforced and mentioned that the exes are currently in mediation to resolve issues like spousal support and dividing up assets.

In April 2022, news broke that Ali and Justin were no longer together after eight years of marriage. However, Ali has previously stated that despite the breakup, she and Justin are still “really, really close” and “best friends.” She has also spoken about the difficulty of her mother’s reaction to the divorce announcement, emphasizing how hard it was to deal with her fear of shame.
Despite their split, neither Ali nor Justin took immediate action to file for divorce, even when Ali started dating Bill Hader in the same year. While the relationship with Bill went through some ups and downs, the two were photographed locking lips in April 2023, suggesting a reconciliation.
As Ali takes the next steps in her personal life, it remains to be seen how her romance with Bill will impact the finalization of her divorce. Regardless, the hope is that Ali and Justin can remain on good terms throughout this process.
