Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke at a BJP OBC Morcha rally in Patna’s Paliganj, highlighting the accomplishments of the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He focused on significant achievements like the abrogation of Article 370 and the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, among other development initiatives. During his address, he criticized the Congress, Lalu Yadav’s RJD, and the INDIA bloc for opposing the repeal of Article 370. He also accused Lalu Yadav of trying to disrupt the Ram Temple movement by obstructing the Rath Yatra in Bihar.
Addressing the rally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged the people to support the NDA in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to secure all 40 seats. He stated, “Bihar has always supported the Kamal (Lotus) symbol. In 2014, we won 31 seats, in 2019 we won 39, and I am here to seek your support to win all 40 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.” Mr. Shah also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated development projects worth 2 lakh crores, emphasizing that only PM Modi and the BJP can bring about positive changes for the poor and the people of Bihar.
He highlighted that despite the long tenure of the RJD and Congress in power, they failed to honor former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur. Mr. Shah credited PM Modi for awarding Bharat Ratna to Karpoori Thakur, stating, “Lalu Yadav, a Congress ally, disregarded the OBC community.”
Mr. Shah criticized the opposition, particularly the RJD and Congress, for promoting familial politics. He pointed out that Lalu Yadav and Sonia Gandhi have aimed to elevate their family members to powerful positions, neglecting the interests of the broader population.
In a scathing critique of RJD Chief Lalu Yadav regarding the land for jobs scandal, Mr. Shah asserted that the government would form a committee to take action against those illegally seizing land from the poor.
“Lalu Yadav has exploited the land of the underprivileged. A committee under the double-engine government will be established to crack down on the land mafia in Bihar,” Amit Shah declared.
