An investigation by Delhi Police reveals a shocking plot behind the security breach at Parliament

The security lapse in Parliament is under investigation by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. 4 accused have been arrested so far, and the investigation has revealed the involvement of a total of 6 people in the conspiracy.

The incident in Parliament on December 13 was not a coincidence or a hasty incident. The accused had been working on the conspiracy to spread terror for about one and a half years. They reached Delhi from different states of the country as part of the conspiracy. Smoke crackers were arranged as part of the plan, which was revealed through the interrogation of the accused and the investigation.

Today, Delhi Police produced the arrested accused in Patiala house court and requested 15 days custody, but the court granted 7 days police custody after hearing the arguments. The 4 accused in the case are Sagar Sharma, who lit smoke crackers in the house as part of the plan; the second accused, who jumped into the House from the audience gallery; the third accused, Amol Shinde, who brought and burnt the smoke cracker outside the Parliament; the fourth accused, Neelam, who created a ruckus and sloganeered outside the Parliament; the fifth accused, Lalit Jha, who recorded videos of the accused outside the Parliament; and the sixth accused, Vicky of Gurugram, where all the accused stayed together before December 13.

An investigation by Delhi Police revealed that all the accused belong to normal families and do not have a previous criminal background. The accused had previously met through a Facebook page called ‘Bhagat Singh Fan Club’ and had been in touch with 40 members of the page. The accused made a plan to spread terror about one and a half years ago during a meeting in Mysore, Karnataka.

After infiltrating the new Parliament, security protocols are being strengthened to prevent similar incidents from happening again. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with senior ministers to discuss the security lapse, and opposition parties have demanded a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the issue and strict action against the BJP MP who provided the Visitor Pass to the infiltrators.
