Apple Intelligence has arrived, but these essential features are still lacking

Ryan Haines from Android Authority discusses how Apple has joined the AI trend with their Apple Intelligence suite, competing with Google and Samsung. This suite promises to make iOS devices more proactive and useful, although not all features will be available immediately. Some features may even be delayed until 2025.

The current Apple Intelligence features, released with the iOS 18.1 update, include Writing Tools, AI-assisted notification management, call recordings and summaries, a redesigned Siri, and improvements to the Photos app. These features aim to enhance user experience and productivity.

Future Apple Intelligence features expected in December 2024 include expanded Writing Tools, an Image Playground app, Image Wand, ChatGPT integration, and Genmoji. These features will further enhance the capabilities of Apple devices and provide more customization options.

To use Apple Intelligence, users need to update their devices to the latest iOS and macOS versions and change the language to English (United States). Users can then opt-in to join the Apple Intelligence beta program and wait for access to be granted. This cautious approach by Apple reflects the potential risks associated with generative AI technologies.

Overall, Apple Intelligence aims to improve the functionality and user experience of iOS devices, but not all features will be available immediately. Users can expect more enhancements and updates to be rolled out in the future to further enhance their experience with Apple products.
