Shillong, Feb 28: The BJP in Meghalaya is reaching out to the public for suggestions in formulating the party manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to connect with the citizens of the state.
As part of ‘Viksit Bharat Modi ki Guarantee’, Meghalaya BJP State President Rikman G Momin launched a campaign on Wednesday to include citizen’s suggestions in the party manifesto.
The main goal of this campaign for the BJP is to gather public opinions that will help create a prosperous tomorrow for the nation and its citizens.
During the launch, Rikman G Momin said, ‘BJP as a party has always believed in the public responsibility of democracy and ensuring that decision-making power is not limited to a privileged few. With this campaign, we aim to create a manifesto that represents a national consensus, embodying Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s mantra of ‘saabka saath, saabka vikaas, sabka vishwas.’
The party believes that this initiative will help in creating collective policy-making and establishing the foundation for participative governance, bringing democracy to the people of India.
As part of this campaign, suggestion boxes will be placed in the party office in each mandal for citizens to provide their input on policies and agendas essential for national progress and inclusive development. Suggestions are also welcomed from NGOs, self-help groups, unions, associations, cooperatives, and the general public. Those unable to visit the party offices can submit their thoughts online through the NaMo app.
