TL;DR The new Plex “Discover Together” system is now available on all platforms. This feature brings a social media network into Plex, allowing users to see what their friends are watching, like, and comment on each other’s content. Plex has always been a convenient way to access various media, but it lacked social interaction. With Discover Together, all Plex apps become social media apps, enabling users to find friends, view their activities, post comments, and discover new content based on their friends’ recommendations. The three main aspects of Discover Together include the profile, which resembles a typical social media profile, the people tab for managing friends and connections, and the activity tab that displays the aggregated activities of friends. These features are rolling out for everyone, free of charge, and work with all types of Plex content. However, TV apps like Roku and Apple TV may have limited functionality in terms of creating text-based comments.
