Visakhapatnam: AP commission for child rights chairperson K Appa Rao met Andhra University VC Prof PVGD Prasad Reddy on Saturday and requested him to conduct a study on student suicides, alcoholism, and sedative usage. Rao said Vizag has grown by leaps and bounds in the last few decades, but at the same time, it has come to the commission’s notice that many children are indulging in alcoholism and other vices. “We are formulating a plan of action in collaboration with various NGOs and other government organisations to control this trend,” he said. “The faculty and students can make field visits and submit a comprehensive report to the commission.
