Congress leader Jairam Ramesh expressed optimism on Thursday that the party would be able to resolve the seat-sharing stalemate with Trinamool Congress, following a day of discussions between party president Mallikarjun Kharge and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, after TMC announced their decision to contest the Lok Sabha polls in Bengal independently.
Ramesh’s hopefulness about “finding a way forward” came amid ongoing negotiations between Congress and TMC regarding seat-sharing for the Lok Sabha elections, and following Banerjee’s announcement that her party will contest the elections in Bengal alone.
