Congress Embraces Former Rivals as Election Season Approaches

Several BRS councillors and MPTCs from Kollapur Municipality and constituency recently made the decision to join the Congress party in a ceremony presided over by Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Tuesday. This strategic move is aimed at strengthening the Congress party’s position for the upcoming MLC by-elections and Lok Sabha Elections.

Under the guidance of Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, the Congress party has warmly welcomed numerous councillors from the BRS party into its ranks. These former opponents are now being embraced by Congress in order to consolidate its base.

In a significant development, five Members of the Panchayat (MPTCs) and three councillors from the BRS party formally joined the Congress during a ceremony led by Minister Jupally. Notable personalities such as MPTCs Shyamala, Subbaiah Yadav, Ramadevi, Lakshmi Nayak, and Nagamma, along with female councillors from Kolhapur municipality like Haimavathi Ellagoud, Chittemma Ravi, and Alivelamma Karne Vasu, decided to sever ties with the BRS party.

The newly-inducted members expressed their admiration for Jupally’s leadership and dedication to addressing the concerns of Kolhapur. They have pledged to work diligently to secure the Congress candidate’s victory in the upcoming local body MLC elections, citing the party’s commitment to good governance and Jupally’s forward-thinking leadership.
