During a virtual address in Jaipur on February 16, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress for being embroiled in nepotism and dynastic politics, leading to the departure of party members. He accused the Congress of only having the agenda to oppose him and to go against any of his actions, even if it harms the country. The Prime Minister also inaugurated various development projects and laid the foundation stone for others valued at ₹17,000 crore.
PM Modi stated, “The Congress has only one agenda — oppose Modi,” adding that the party spreads divisive messages and is heavily influenced by dynastic politics. He criticized the Congress for not being able to develop positive policies or have a vision for the future, and for opposing his efforts to fulfill guarantees. He mentioned the Congress’ lack of support for initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ because they were associated with him.
He indicated the contrast in the public’s reaction to his economic initiatives compared to the Congress’, highlighting the opposition’s reluctance to praise India’s progress. The Prime Minister further emphasized the significant improvements made in the electricity sector under the BJP-led government, particularly in the area of solar energy, as well as the commitment to make Rajasthan self-reliant in electricity production.
He spoke about the dreams for India’s future, citing his discussions with leaders from UAE and Qatar who were impressed by India’s progress. He described ‘Viksit Bharat’ as a campaign to elevate society, eradicate poverty, and create modern facilities, with a strong focus on sectors like rail, road, electricity, and water, emphasizing the benefits for farmers, industries, tourism, and overall employment.
Mr. Modi noted that the government’s priorities revolve around empowering the youth, women, farmers, and the poor, and before his address, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects in Rajasthan, attended by several public representatives.
