Billie Eilish gained fame with her hit song ‘Bad Guy’ and has acquired at least four tattoos. The singer, who is now 21 years old, used to keep her tattoos hidden but has recently been more open about them. In a 2020 interview with Vanity Fair, she admitted to getting a tattoo but stated that it would never be seen. However, she has since changed her stance and has given glimpses of her tattoos. Eilish revealed that she had wanted tattoos for years and that while she was giving interviews as a teenager, she would often think about wanting tattoos and cars. Here are the details of each of Billie’s rarely seen tattoos and the meanings behind them.
Eilish (sternum)
Back in 2020, after winning five Grammy Awards, Billie reportedly got her first tattoo which says “Eilish” in an ornate gothic font in the middle of her chest. Although she initially claimed it would never be seen, it has been visible in a photo shared on Instagram by Anabel Zimmer, the daughter of music legend Hans Zimmer.
Dragon (hip/thigh)
Billie’s elusive and mysterious dragon tattoo starts on her upper right thigh and extends up to her right hip. Fans caught a glimpse of it in a brief Instagram clip in May 2023. The dragon was visible when Billie wore dresses with a thigh-high slit, like the scarlet red Oscar De La Renta gown she wore to the 2021 Met Gala. She gave a closer view of her dragon tattoo in another Instagram video, showcasing the intricate details of the dragon’s head, teeth, and neck. In a 2021 interview with Vanity Fair, Billie stated that she does not plan to get heavily tattooed but may consider more in the future.
Fairies (hand/wrist)
Billie’s most visible tattoos are a pair of fairies on her left hand and wrist. She first revealed them on the red carpet at the premiere of the James Bond film “No Time to Die” in 2021. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she explained that the fairies are inspired by a book she had as a child called “Fairyopolis.” She considers them her guardian angel fairies.

On October 18, 2023, Billie shared a topless photo on Instagram, showcasing a large and intricate back tattoo. The design consists of swirling and slender ink that runs down her spine to her tailbone. She had previously given a sneak peek of the tattoo on her upper neck in September 2023.
