Former Telangana CM KCR slips in bathroom, hip bone fractured; ‘6-8 weeks to recover,’ says Yashoda Hospital

Former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been admitted to a hospital after falling down in his farmhouse in Erravalli last night, a fracture is suspected, ANI news agency reported.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief has been admitted to the Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad.

Doctors evaluated the condition of the BRS president, who is aged 69. According an official statement by the hospital, KCR would require left hip replacement and is expected to recover in six to eight weeks.

K Chandrashekhar Rao Garu slipped and fell in his bathroom at his residence and was subsequently brought to Yashoda Hospital. On evaluation, including CT scans he was found to have left Hip fracture [Extracapsular Neck of femur fracture).

“He is being constantly monitored by a multi-disciplinary team including Orthopaedic, Anaesthesia, General Medicine, and Pain Medicine. His general condition is stable. The hospital will update his health status periodically,” Yashoda Hospital said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written a post on the X platform for KCR’s quick recovery. “Distressed to know that former Telangana CM Shri KCR Garu has suffered an injury. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health,” PM Modi wrote.

Meanwhile, BRS party leader Kavitha Kalvakuntla informed that KCR is currently under expert care and has sustained a minor injury.
