Google is integrating some of Gmail’s AI features directly into the Gemini Assistant, allowing users to access email summarization and reply suggestions within Gemini itself. Currently, access to these AI tools requires enrollment in Google Workspace Labs or a Google One AI Premium subscription.
Google has introduced AI features in Gmail for desktop and mobile users, such as email summarization and reply suggestions. Now, users can access some of these Gmail features through the Gemini Assistant window.
An APK teardown can predict upcoming features on a service, but these features may not always be released to the public. The Android Authority team activated this new feature in the Google App for Android version 15.37.41.29.arm64. When users activate Gemini while an email is open, suggestion chips appear, offering options like summarizing the email, suggesting a reply, and listing action items.
Gemini’s existing capability of providing insights from on-screen content is enhanced with these Gmail-specific suggestion chips. However, these chips are not available in earlier versions of the Google App, so users may need to wait for future releases to access them.
Accessing Gmail’s AI features currently requires enrollment in Google’s Workspace Labs program or a Google One AI Premium subscription. It is unclear if the Gemini Assistant’s Gmail-specific features will follow the same access pattern or be available to a wider audience in the future.
As AI continues to be integrated into daily life, we can expect to see more of Gemini in Google products. Have a tip? Contact us at news@androidauthority.com and choose to remain anonymous or receive credit for your information.
