Hands-on Review of the HONOR Magic 6 Pro: A Boldly Designed Zoom Master

HONOR has officially launched the Magic 6 Pro globally during Mobile World Congress 2024 after initially announcing it in China at the beginning of January. The Pro model is the only one of the Magic 6 phones to be released globally, while the others will likely remain in China.

The Magic 6 Pro boasts premium specs, camera features, and overall build quality. The design of the phone, including the pill-shaped display cutout in the center of the screen and the faux leather finish on the back, is striking and modern. The phone also includes an accurate 3D face unlock feature within the display cutout.

The 6.8-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED display of the Magic 6 Pro is curved, making it great for watching videos with vibrant colors and accurate visuals. The display also supports Dolby Vision, enhancing the viewing experience further.

The camera setup on the Magic 6 Pro is impressive, with a 50MP primary lens, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 180MP periscope lens with 2.5x optical zoom. The periscope lens, in particular, stands out for its detail and image quality.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the Magic 6 Pro offers smooth performance with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The phone also features a large 5,600mAh battery and fast charging capabilities.

Running on Magic OS 8.0 based on Android 14, the software of the Magic 6 Pro introduces new AI features and offers full support for the Google Play Store.

With its premium design, impressive camera capabilities, powerful performance, and innovative software features, the HONOR Magic 6 Pro presents a strong option in the flagship Android phone market, competing with devices like the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Pixel 8 Pro.
