Samsung has surprised many by excluding its Exynos chipset from the Galaxy S23 series and opting for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip instead. However, the company is now back with the Exynos 2400 mobile processor, which is expected to debut in early 2024. It is rumored that the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus will be powered by the Exynos 2400, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a Snapdragon chip. The Exynos 2400 is said to offer improved performance, featuring the latest Arm Cortex CPUs and an AMD-powered GPU based on RDNA 3 architecture. It will also have advanced AI capabilities and a next-gen modem with fast download and upload speeds. However, there are concerns about performance throttling and potential compromises compared to the Snapdragon chip. Samsung’s choice of manufacturing node for the Exynos 2400 is also unknown. We will have to wait and see how the Exynos 2400 performs in real-world scenarios.
