The upcoming movies will feature well-known figures such as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, current Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Telugu Desam leader N Chandrababu Naidu, and the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
Although actors like Mamootty, Jeeva, and Ajmal Ameer will portray these political figures, the films will focus on their struggles, policies, and political decisions against their opponents. This blend of politics and entertainment is expected to create a buzz in both the film industry and political circles.
Producer Vishnu Induri states that while political films generate interest and can ensure a decent opening at the box office, Telugu audiences are discerning and can differentiate between authentic portrayals and biased agendas. Several political thrillers featuring lookalikes of political leaders are in the pipeline, including ‘Vyooham,’ ‘Yatra 2,’ ‘KCR,’ and ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao.’ In the film ‘Vyooham,’ former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi will make a brief appearance, which is an essential element for the period adventure set in the 1970s. However, the producer emphasizes that the movie is primarily an action-packed adventure, not a political film.
Producer Dasari Kiran Kumar is working on a political potboiler centered around the nine years of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political struggle. He denies rumors that he is being funded by the YSR Congress Party to create a biopic on the Chief Minister, asserting that he is financially independent. Kiran Kumar states that he was inspired by Jagan Mohan Reddy’s journey from a struggling political leader to becoming the Chief Minister and aims to tell an inspirational story. The film will also feature lookalikes of Sonia Gandhi, N Chandrababu Naidu, and Pawan Kalyan, who played significant roles in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s life.
Kiran Kumar clarifies that these characters are integral to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s story and the film does not intend to mock anyone. The trailer for ‘Vyooham’ has already garnered positive feedback and is trending on YouTube, indicating a favorable response from the public. Recently, Jabardhast Rakesh revealed the cutout of Telangana Chief Minister KCR in his upcoming movie, “KCR.”
