ISRAEL conducted its second nighttime raid into Gaza, indicating its preparations for a full-scale ground invasion. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that columns of tanks, fighter jets, helicopters, and drones targeted Hamas terror sites and infrastructure. The raid took place near the Shuja’iyya neighborhood in Gaza City, with drones and combat helicopters providing air support. The IDF stated that they identified and struck several terror targets, including anti-tank missile launch sites and military command centers. Israel’s military released black-and-white footage showing the armoured vehicles and the dust cloud after the strikes. This raid followed a similar one in the northern part of Gaza the previous night. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously stated that Israel was preparing for a ground offensive and claimed to have already eliminated thousands of terrorists. The IDF also mentioned that tanks, troops, and bulldozers had wiped out numerous Hamas terrorist cells in their overnight targeted raid. The footage depicted bulldozers clearing the way for the armored vehicles. This recent escalation in violence comes amid fears that the Israel-Hamas conflict could expand into a broader war in the region. In a separate operation, US fighter jets retaliated against two Iran-backed militia bases in Syria, targeting weapons and ammunition depots. This action was taken in response to recent drone and missile attacks on US bases by Iran-backed groups. The tensions in the Middle East have intensified since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas on October 7, resulting in a significant number of casualties and destruction. The US has reportedly advised Israel to delay its full-scale ground invasion until advanced air defense systems can be deployed to protect their troops. Israel has already mobilized troops, tanks, and evacuated civilians from the border areas.
