Kerala, also known as “God’s own Country,” is one of few states where the Congress still has a stronghold during the Lok Sabha Elections, as even in 2019 elections, it was the one of the states where INC won the majority of seats, while at the same time it was one of the few states where BJP-led NDA, ended up empty handed.
Kerala, will once again be on the priority list of INC, as their face for Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi is also MP, from the Wayanad constituency of the state. However, NDA will try to change their positioning in the state in order to establish their complete dominance in the 2024 General Elections. Notably, Kerala has the highest voter’s turnout in comparison to any other state, making the need of establishing proper connection with the people of the state even more important.
When is Kerala Lok Sabha Elections?
ECI (Election Commission of India), usually organises the Lok Sabha pollings in Kerala in the first half of the election period, giving the expected time frame of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections in “God’s own Country” to late April or early May. However, the exact dates will be revealed by ECI, after their official announcement of 2024 General Elections’ date line in late February or early March.
How many phases Kerala will have?
Kerala, with its organised voters and voting system, typically completes the polling on all the constituencies in a single phase. However, ECI can opt to change the trend and keep the polling in two phases during the 2024 General Elections.
How many Lok Sabha constituencies Kerala has?
Kerala, holds the 12th rank in the states with the most number of Lok Sabha seats with 20, out of which 18 are unreserved seats, while two seats are reserved for SC candidates. During the 17th Lok Sabha Elections, INC-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) came out on top by winning 19 of the 20 seats, making it the most successful state for the alliance.
