Depending on whom you ask, Love Is Blind Season 5 was either hailed as the best in the show’s short history or considered an absolute disaster. One thing everyone can agree on is that the season was full of drama. However, some viewers believe that the drama was unnecessary and orchestrated by producers to compensate for the lack of engagements. In this season, only two couples made it to the engagement stage, or at least those were the only two we got to see. It turns out that three other couples got engaged during the pod stage, but their stories were cut for various reasons. One contestant, Tran Dang, accused her partner of assault and is currently suing the show’s producers. Another couple, Renee Poche and Carter Wall, made it to the altar but had their story cut due to fraud allegations. As for Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons, there is no information on why their love story didn’t make the cut, but they ended up breaking up before the wedding stage. After Taylor Rue decided to end her relationship with JP, only two couples were left standing: James Milton Johnson (aka Milton) and Lydia Velez Gonzalez, and Stacy Snyder and Izzy Zapata. Only Milton and Lydia went through with their wedding, making this the least successful season in terms of marriages. On a positive note, during the reunion, it was revealed that Milton and Lydia are still happily married 18 months after tying the knot, despite their long-distance relationship. Lydia also emerged victorious in other ways, as she dated Uche Okoroha in the past, causing tension and prompting Uche’s primary love interest, Aaliyah Cosby, to quit the experiment. Uche ended up being portrayed as the primary villain of the season, while viewers applauded Lydia for crashing her ex’s “newly single” party. Uche claims that he briefly dated Aaliyah off-camera after the show ended, but it didn’t work out. Since Uche didn’t appear on the reunion, he may never get the opportunity to share his side of the story. Lydia, on the other hand, found love and seemingly turned her ex’s life upside down. Despite the chaotic season, Lydia emerged as the triumphant one.
