Man arrested for murdering woman after she refused sexual favours | Pune News

Pimpri Chinchwad police on Wednesday arrested a young man who allegedly requested sexual favors from a woman and killed her when she refused.

The accused has been identified as Arif Zulfikar Mallik (21), a resident of Moshi. The victim is a 32-year-old woman, the wife of a construction worker from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, currently living at the labor camp of a residential project in Ravet.


Her husband Pramod Yadav has filed an FIR at Ravet police station.

Police discovered the victim’s body in the storage room inside the clubhouse of an under-construction residential society in Ravet.

Sub-inspector Anil Tarfe said, “The investigation revealed that the accused Arif approached the victim when she was alone in the storage room inside the residential society clubhouse in Ravet.”

“He allegedly requested sexual favors from her. When she refused and threatened to inform her husband and report him to the police, the accused became angry and attacked her with a hard object, resulting in her death. The accused has been arrested and a court has remanded him to police custody for five days. Further investigation is ongoing,” said Tarfe, the investigating officer.

Tarfe stated that the accused is a professional plumber and worked at the same construction site. The police have charged him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
