PM Launches ‘Namo Drone Didi Yojana’ to Empower Rural Women

Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Sunday that economic empowerment has spread to every village in the country due to the consistent efforts of the Centre.

He announced that the Centre will be introducing the ‘Namo Drone Didi Yojana’ on Monday.

Under this scheme, women beneficiaries will be provided with drones and trained to operate them.

During the virtual launch of the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ welfare scheme for women in Chhattisgarh, Mr. Modi mentioned that empowerment of women is a top priority for both the Centre and the state BJP government.

On the occasion, Mr. Modi distributed the first installment of Rs 1,000 each to 70,12,417 women beneficiaries in Chhattisgarh by clicking a button. The state government has allocated a total of Rs 655.57 crore for this purpose. Under the scheme, women beneficiaries receive a monthly incentive of Rs 1,000. “This money will be deposited into your accounts every month without any hassle,” Mr. Modi assured.

He praised chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai for fulfilling the promise of launching the Mahtari Vandan Yojana within three months of taking office in the state. “Modi’s guarantee is the assurance of fulfilling the guarantee,” he stated.

Mr. Modi highlighted the fact that women are the primary beneficiaries of various programs, such as the Ujjwala Yojana, which provides affordable cylinders. He mentioned that over half of Jan Dhan accounts are held by women, and more than 65 percent of Mudra loans have been obtained by women, particularly young entrepreneurs.

Our government has transformed the lives of over ten crore women through self-help groups in the last decade, Mr. Modi pointed out. “Thanks to our government’s efforts, over one crore women have become ‘lakhpati didis.’ Our goal is to make three crore women ‘lakhpati didis’ nationwide,” he declared.

“Economic empowerment has spread to every village due to our government’s efforts,” Mr. Modi emphasized. He mentioned the initiatives taken by the Centre to improve women’s welfare, such as providing toilets to prevent health issues

Mr. Modi also commended the chief minister for fulfilling many promises made to the people before the November Assembly polls within three months of assuming office in the state.

During the event, Mr. Sai thanked Mr. Modi for launching the scheme, stating that “The day these women have been eagerly anticipating has finally arrived.”
