PM Modi conducts roadshow in Varanasi and visits Kashi Vishwanath Temple to offer prayers

After a massive roadshow in Varanasi, the Prime Minister visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to offer prayers at the holy shrine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to the party and its workers for their unwavering faith in him. He is looking forward to serving the people of Varanasi for the third time. PM Modi shared his commitment to fulfilling people’s dreams and empowering the poorest of the poor.

He highlighted the progress made in various sectors over the last ten years and the efforts towards a better Kashi. The PM also thanked the people of Kashi for their blessings.

PM Modi stated that the BJP is approaching the people based on their track record of good governance and ensuring progress reaches the most marginalized sections of society.

The BJP announced its first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls following a meeting chaired by PM Modi. This will be PM Modi’s third time contesting from the Varanasi seat, having won in 2014 and 2019.

Varanasi has historically been a BJP stronghold, with the party retaining it consistently since 1991, except in 2004. Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Election Commissioner Arun Goel has resigned from his post.

Goel assumed the role of Election Commissioner in November 2022, and the Lok Sabha polls are scheduled to be held in April-May this year.
