WhatsApp is currently developing two new features to enhance user experience. The first feature is called “alternate profile” which allows users to restrict their profile photo to contacts while displaying an alternate profile photo and name to non-contacts. This feature is especially useful for users who want to maintain privacy while engaging with clients, colleagues, and industry peers. The second feature is the ability to start video calls with up to 32 participants. Previously, users could only select 15 participants to initiate a group call, but now they can start the call with the maximum number of participants right away. While the video call feature is currently available for iOS users, it is unclear if it will also be rolled out for Android users.
