Shiv Sena’s UBT chief, Uddhav Thackeray, appeals to Union minister Nitin Gadkari to depart from BJP

Uddhav Thackeray expressed his concerns over the absence of Nitin Gadkari’s name in the BJP’s first list of candidates for the upcoming elections. He mentioned that despite figures like Kripashankar Singh being included in the list, Gadkari was missing.

During a rally in Pusad, Thackeray urged Gadkari to consider leaving the BJP if he felt insulted, promising him a ministerial position with power in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance. Thackeray emphasized that they would ensure Gadkari’s victory in the election.

Last week, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded to Thackeray’s offer to Gadkari, mocking the suggestion as unrealistic. Fadnavis explained that the absence of Maharashtra candidates in the list was due to ongoing discussions on seat-sharing with allies.

Thackeray also criticized the timing of the notification for the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, referring to it as an election tactic. He emphasized the need for the BJP to prioritize bringing back Kashmiri Pandits before implementing the CAA.

He highlighted the upcoming elections as a battle between those who promote unity and those who sow discord, urging voters to support the alliance of patriots. Thackeray also criticized Prime Minister Modi for neglecting Manipur, a region in need of attention.
