Tab group sharing feature may return to Google Chrome in the near future

TL;DR Google is developing a new version of the Share button for tab groups in Chrome for Android, possibly rolling out in a future update. The feature was originally removed in 2021 but is now being reintroduced with an improved implementation. Users will soon be able to share tab groups by simply clicking on a dedicated Share button located at the top of the group. This will open an Invite people window where users can invite others via email. Shared tab groups will display a shared group indicator with the recipient’s profile picture or name initial. Additional options in the three-dot menu will allow users to manage sharing, view recent activity, close or delete the group. Currently, tab group sharing is not functional in Chrome Canary, but users can expect changes and improvements before the feature is widely available.
