Almost two months after his passing, TMZ obtained information from a Napa County coroner providing more details on the events leading to his death. It was revealed that the allergic reaction which caused anaphylactic shock eventually led to a heart attack.

The severe allergic reaction resulted in Michael being rushed to the ER, where he was resuscitated. Unfortunately, he did not recover and ultimately succumbed to hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, a brain dysfunction caused by lack of blood flow and oxygen. It is truly heartbreaking.

According to the coroner, another contributing factor to the 61-year-old’s untimely death was cocaine use. It was reported that cocaine was found in Michael’s system at the time of his passing, although it was clarified that his death was not a result of a drug overdose.

Such a tragic way to pass. May he rest in peace.
