Shillong, Feb 29: South Shillong’s MLA from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sanbor Shullai, engaged in a heated exchange with Opposition leader Ronnie V Lyngdoh during the Assembly session on Wednesday.
During the budget session on Wednesday, the South Shillong MLA raised concerns about various issues in his constituency, including the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic. Shullai criticized the Opposition leader for not addressing the issues faced by the constituents and focusing instead on political issues.
Shullai also emphasized the importance of initiatives like the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Uniform Civil Code (UCC), and Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the region, highlighting the need for a comprehensive development plan to address the concerns of the people.
He also urged the government to prioritize the development of infrastructure and address the issues faced by the people in his constituency.
Shullai expressed confidence in the BJP’s ability to address the needs of the people and ensure their development.
