Top hero invited me to his room without even knowing my name

Tamil actress Vichitra, a current contestant on Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7, has disclosed the reason behind her departure from the film industry back in 2000. During a task in the house, Vichitra shared a life-changing event that led to her decision to leave her ten-year career and the public eye. This event was a case of sexual harassment on the sets of a Telugu film in Malampuzha, Kerala.

While she did not reveal the name of the film or the individuals involved, Vichitra recounted the harassment she faced during the film shoot in the state.

Vichitra explained, “Upon the request of a now-deceased actor, I went to act in a film in Malampuzha, where I also met my now-husband who was working in the hotel I was staying at. I encountered a significant issue during my time there, particularly related to casting. This incident led to my disappearance from the industry after 2000, and it was widely reported in the papers. It left a lasting scar. Bigg Boss encouraged us to confront our demons, and by speaking about this, I hope to overcome mine.”

She detailed an incident where the hotel management threw a party to celebrate obtaining ‘Three Star’ status, and she was invited by the manager (her now-husband) to attend the event. However, upon meeting the film’s hero, he made inappropriate advances towards her. Subsequently, she faced various problems and harassment throughout the shoot.

Festive offer

With the hotel manager’s assistance, she managed to relocate to different rooms to avoid the perpetrators. However, the situation worsened, culminating in her being inappropriately touched during a shoot. Even when she attempted to seek help, she faced resistance from the stunt master and received no support from the actor’s union or the police.

Feeling let down by the industry and finding support from her husband, Vichitra made the decision to leave the film industry behind. She emphasized the need for immediate action against such crimes and encouraged her fellow contestant to report similar issues without delay.
