Uddhav Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), made a bold statement on Tuesday, declaring that Maharashtra will play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s future. He predicted a “saffron storm” that would sweep through Delhi and dismantle any form of dictatorship.
Addressing party workers at his residence ‘Matoshri’, Thackeray emphasized that dictatorship is not a viable option and must be eliminated. He pointed to the influx of BJP workers and the Muslim community joining his party as evidence of the growing opposition to authoritarian rule.
Thackeray asserted that Maharashtra’s choice would be to overthrow dictatorship, paving the way for a saffron surge into Delhi. He stated, “A saffron storm will hit Delhi and uproot the dictatorship. Dictatorship cannot be an option,” underscoring his commitment to opposing any form of authoritarian rule.
Regarding concerns about the Opposition INDIA bloc, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the former chief minister questioned the existence of a viable alternative. He challenged opponents, stating, “Some people have questions about the opposition INDIA alliance, MVA but where is the option.”
In a subtle criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thackeray remarked that there is no connection between “Mann ki Baat” (Mr. Modi’s monthly radio show) and “Jan ki Baat” (the people’s voice). He raised questions about the alignment of the Prime Minister’s radio discourse with the genuine sentiments of the people.
