Uncovering the Dark Truth: The Mystery of My Father’s Alleged Secret Life as a Nazi Hunter and the Chilling Deaths that Followed

When the body of Sergejus Sidabras was discovered on a railway line in Parramatta, Sydney during the mid 1950s, it was initially believed that he died by suicide or perished in an accident. However, after seventy years, Jack Green, who hails from Melbourne, was shocked to learn that his affectionate and caring father Boris may have been responsible for the murder of Sidabras, who was an alleged Nazi collaborator. Boris was captured in a photograph alongside his eldest sons Jon and Sam, who later disclosed a long-kept family secret to Jack, leading him to investigate further into the matter. Jon and Sam shared an account of overhearing Yiddish conversations during the 50s, where they recall their father referring to a Nazi living in Sydney, implying that action needed to be taken against him. Jack, who was much younger than his brothers, was born when Boris was 53 years old, and was cherished by his devoted family-loving father. However, dark secrets from Boris’ past were concealed from him, despite Jon and Sam recalling the telling conversations that they overheard. Stories about their dad’s involvement in the murder of a man found in the Parramatta river piqued Jon’s memory, but he was not explicitly told about it. During the war, Boris Greineman and his brother Fima were resistance fighters in occupied Belarus, and when they learned of the death of their entire family during the Holocaust in Lithuania, Boris and Fima established the Jewish partisan group Nekoma to combat the Nazis. Following World War II, the brothers came to Australia on a possible mission to hunt down Nazi war criminals, particularly those who allegedly killed their families. Private detective John Garvey believes Boris and Fima planned to seek revenge on Lithuanian Nazi collaborators who fled to Australia after the war. A new BBC Four Storyville documentary called Revenge: Our Dad the Nazi Killer examines the investigation into Boris’s past, and how he and others may have carried out missions against Nazi war criminals in Australia. The documentary uncovers evidence that appears to align with the notion that Boris may have murdered an alleged Lithuanian Nazi collaborator named Sidabras in Parramatta. The detective found several other instances of alleged Nazi collaborators with connections to Boris and his brother who died under suspicious circumstances in Australia. Jack is left questioning whether his father had the right to kill Nazis in Australia, while Jon contemplates the idea of seeking justice and revenge.
