UP Congress chief criticizes BJP for turning Ram temple into an event rather than a matter of faith

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has turned the construction of Ram Mandir into an event instead of respecting it as a matter of faith for the people, stated Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Rai on Tuesday. He also expressed hope that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will contest from Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.

During a press conference in Mumbai, Rai, along with Mumbai Congress chief Varsha Gaikwad, criticized the BJP, saying, “Construction of Ram Mandir is a matter of faith and not about making an event. If there is enough faith, even a single lamp and a solitary flower will suffice. The BJP is making an event of it and fooling people.”

Rai also criticized the politics in Uttar Pradesh, stating, “They talk about Halal and madrasa but never address issues like unemployment, gas prices, and rampant inflation. The issue of Halal is just to harass the minorities.”

Expressing optimism about Rahul Gandhi’s intentions, Rai said, “They (Gandhi family) have been working for the people of Amethi for generations. Rahul ji will definitely contest from Amethi.”

Regarding the Uttar Pradesh community in Mumbai, he stated, “Congress has been the home of UPites in Mumbai. Many leaders took advantage of opportunities within the Congress and then abandoned the party during trying times. However, people will join and support the Congress party again.”
