Google Photos is leveraging AI with features like Magic Editor. Through Magic Editor tools like Reimagine, users can edit their images with AI, allowing them to alter the background, reposition and resize objects, and introduce new elements to the image. As this is a relatively recent feature, the UI could benefit from some enhancements, which Google appears to be addressing. An upcoming update to Magic Editor will introduce several UI changes that better showcase its various AI features and simplify the use of different prompts.
An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release.

The new UI simplifies the process of replacing and adding new elements to photos with Reimagine. The new “Insert” and “Replace” options bring up a text input field with a prefilled command so you can continue typing to achieve your desired image. The “Reimagine Background” option, which saves you from having to select the entire background to change it, also seems to be a new addition.

As mentioned, this UI is not currently active in Google Photos’ Magic Editor. Given that it significantly enhances the app’s usability, we hope it will be rolled out to all users soon.
