Google has unveiled the Google TV Streamer, featuring new hardware and enhanced software for an improved Google TV experience. The device will offer Gemini-powered content suggestions from all your subscriptions, as well as AI overviews with content ratings and viewer feedback.
The Google TV Streamer is being touted as Google’s best streaming device yet, with innovative software features powered by Google’s Gemini AI. Users can browse a library of free streaming content without using apps, and have access to live TV content from sources like YouTube TV and Pluto TV.
Google TV will now offer AI-powered recommendations based on user preferences, creating personalized watchlists for each household member. The new AI overviews will summarize plots, user reviews, and flag content that may not be suitable for everyone.
On the visual front, Google TV is introducing a new Ambient mode that uses AI to generate custom wallpapers or screensavers. The features will likely be exclusive to the Google TV Streamer initially, priced at $99.99 and available starting September 24.
