The election committee of the Delhi BJP has submitted a list of 25-30 potential candidates for the seven Lok Sabha seats in the capital to the national leadership.
The Central Election Committee of the BJP is scheduled to meet in Delhi this evening to prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election. The meeting, chaired by BJP President JP Nadda, is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other prominent party members.
After the meeting, a significant number of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls are expected to be announced. The Delhi BJP has forwarded a list of potential candidates for the seven Lok Sabha seats to the national leadership.
Some notable contenders for the New Delhi seat include External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Bansuri Swaraj (daughter of former leader Sushma Swaraj), and incumbent MP Meenakshi Lekhi.
Discussions about these potential candidates took place at a meeting at the party’s headquarters on DDU Marg, attended by national leaders like BJP chief J P Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and state president Virendra Sachdeva.
The BJP’s central election committee is set to meet on Thursday with expectations for the announcement of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
