AAP Government Announces Monthly Rs 1000 Support for Women in Delhi

The Kejriwal government announced on Monday that every woman in Delhi will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1000 under the “Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojna” in the 2024-25 budget presented by Finance Minister Atishi. Starting from the next financial year, women in Delhi who are 18 years and above will be eligible to receive Rs 1000 per month. This initiative seems to be influenced by the success of the “Laadli Behna” scheme, which played a significant role in the BJP’s victory in the MP elections last year.

The total outlay of the Delhi budget is 76000 Crores, with 16000 Crores allocated to education and 80 Crores towards senior citizens’ pilgrimage travel. Atishi highlighted in her budget speech that the GSDP of Delhi has increased to 11.08 Lakh Crores in 2023-24 from 4.95 Lakh Crores in 2014-15, and the per capita income in Delhi has risen from 2.47 Lakh in 2014-15 to 4.62 Lakh in 2023-24, which is 2.5 times higher than the national average. She also indirectly referenced the BJP government at the center, emphasizing that the AAP government is dedicated to establishing “Ram Rajya” in Delhi, despite facing numerous obstacles in the last 9 years, like CM Kejriwal following in the footsteps of Ram, the government is working tirelessly to fulfill its promises to the public.
