Surprisingly, these extremely affordable plans are more functional than one might expect, with some minor compromises. After testing multiple prepaid carriers over the past year, I found that there are trade-offs even with the best prepaid carriers offering service at $15 or less per month.

While there are sacrifices to be made, three carriers that stood out for providing a quality experience at such a low price include Connect by T-Mobile, US Mobile, and Tello.
