A British millionaire, Colin Armstrong, was living a luxurious lifestyle with his younger lover, Katherine Paola Santos, before he was reportedly kidnapped by 15 men disguised as police officers. The 78-year-old, who is head of the British Consulate in Guayaquil, Ecuador, was snatched alongside Katherine at their estate. However, Katherine has been rescued and is currently being questioned by the police. Prior to their disappearance, the couple had been displaying their extravagant lifestyle on social media, showcasing their travels around the world and their visits to various luxury destinations. Colin’s wealth comes from his successful business in North Yorkshire, where he owns Tupgill Park Estate and a large firm in Ecuador called Agripac.
Following the alleged kidnapping, the couple were taken from their ranch in Baba, Los Rios province, and driven away in Colin’s black BMW, which was later found abandoned. The attackers were reportedly wearing police uniforms as disguises. Local reports described the aftermath of the raid, which showed evidence of a forced entry, blood, and ransacked rooms. The Foreign Office confirmed they were in contact with authorities in Ecuador following the disappearance of a British man.
The investigation into the kidnapping is ongoing, and the whereabouts of 78-year-old Colin Armstrong are still unknown. His daughter has pleaded for his safe return.
