Chandigarh News: Panjab University’s 141st Foundation Day Celebrations Led by Vice Chancellor

Panjab University (PU), which was originally established on October 14, 1882, in Lahore and later relocated to Chandigarh, on Saturday celebrated its 141st Foundation Day on its campus.

Saturday’s celebrations were led by PU vice chancellor, Professor Renu Vig, who presided over the flag-hoisting ceremony, to kick-off the day’s proceedings.

Later, Padma Shri Jitendra Kumar Bajaj was honored with a ‘Guard of Honor’ by the NSS volunteers of the university.

In her address to students V-C Renu Vig highlighted the illustrious history of Panjab University and its continuous pursuit of setting new standards in education.

Apart from Vig, the others who attended the event included former vice chancellors, Professor Arun Grover, and Professor RC Sobti, who in their turn, reminisced about their time spent at the university and the pride they feel in celebrating its Foundation Day.
