The 69th National Film Awards ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday marked a significant moment for the Telugu film industry as it saw Allu Arjun being conferred with the National Film Award for Best Actor.
Moreover, the event was a source of immense joy for Allu Arjun as it also saw other luminaries, including SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravaani, Devi Sri Prasad, and Kaala Bhairava, from the Telugu industry bagging prestigious awards.
Amidst the celebratory atmosphere, Allu Arjun also expressed his elation at witnessing the legendary actor Waheeda Rehman being honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Taking to social media to share a picture with her from the venue, he noted: “It was a life time experience to witness Shri Waheeda Rehman ji win the Dadasaheb Phalke award. More than 6 decades of career in films. Truly inspiring.”
Congratulating Alia Bhatt for her National Award win, Allu wrote: “It was an absolute pleasure to see dear Alia Bhatt win this award. Iconic performance for an iconic film (Gangubai Kathiawadi). Truly deserving and many more.”
Heaping praise on Mimi actor Kriti Sanon, he noted: “It was a pleasure having the company of dear Kriti Sanon. A well-deserved award for a league jumper performance. What a lovely lady… wishing her more in this journey… and hopefully a movie together soon.”

Shortly after President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards and the event concluded, all the celebrities exchanged greetings and pleasantries. They also created an unforgettable experience for their numerous fans outside by taking photos together and capturing selfies, many of which went viral on social media yesterday.
“I am extremely happy that I am receiving this award. It’s a double achievement for me to receive it for a commercial film,” Allu Arjun said on the occasion. Allu was honoured with the prestigious award for his performance in Sukumar’s Pushpa: The Rise (2021).
