Haveri: Basavaraj Bommai, the former Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Haveri, has mentioned that the second list of the party is expected to be released on Friday.
“The Parliament Board meeting is set for Friday. The second list might be out tomorrow,” Bommai stated at Makanur in Ranebennur Taluk on Thursday.
The BJP has already declared its candidates for 20 constituencies in the initial list.
Talking about the economic situation in Karnataka, Bommai emphasized that the state witnessed economic progress during the BJP’s rule and criticized the current Congress government for its supposed mismanagement.
Bommai countered Minister H K Patil’s view that equated BJP with emotion and Congress with life, saying, “People understand the realities of life and emotions.”
“Under the BJP government’s leadership, significant improvements were made in Karnataka’s irrigation system. Yediyurappa introduced special programs for the marginalized. Social justice and economic progress are interlinked with livelihoods. However, the Congress government has not allocated any funds for drinking water. Instead of taking real action, they are only holding meetings and making promises to address the drought,” he remarked.
Addressing the internal dynamics of the BJP, Bommai expressed confidence in the party’s unity despite differing opinions, specifically mentioning former Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda’s recent remarks about cleansing the party. He highlighted Gowda’s experience and strong commitment to the party’s principles.
Responding to a query about Eshwarappa’s recent statements, Bommai acknowledged the emotional nature of the comments and hinted at ongoing discussions within the party leadership to address any concerns.
