Gutha expresses frustration over the delay in decision on Nalgonda LS seat for son

Hyderabad: Legislative Council chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy is disappointed with the BRS party due to the lack of clarity on the Nalgonda Lok Sabha candidate. Reddy had hoped for his son, Gutha Amit, to receive the ticket for the Nalgonda LS seat. However, his son was not able to secure a ticket in the Assembly elections as the party opted to give seats to current MLAs.

Reddy had expected the ticket announcement during a preparatory meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Monday. Party leader K Chandrashekhar Rao had assured Reddy of the ticket. However, other party leaders advised working president KT Rama Rao against declaring any names, believing that Reddy’s responsibility for the party’s defeat in Nalgonda meant his son’s name should not be announced.

During the meeting, KTR attempted to contact Reddy but received no response. Subsequently, Rao visited Reddy’s residence for discussions. Sources close to Reddy have indicated that he has given an ultimatum to the leadership, demanding that his son be given the ticket or he will leave the party. It remains to be seen what decision the party will make.
