Kuldeep gets his name under the wickets column. The wrist spinner floats one on middle and leg, Chapman sits on one knee and sweeps the ball straight down Jadeja’s throat at deep square leg. Kiwis crumbling now.

Mitchell smokes Shami for a six in the 38th over. Will this allow NZ to stage a comeback after the wobble in the last few over?

At the end of 35 overs NZ are 224/4 and require another 174 runs in 90 balls. Mitchell’s wicket, one reckons, will be the key in deciding the outcome of the match. 

Shami strikes once again in the same over as Tom Latham gets trapped in front. It’s so plumb that Latham does not even bother consulting his partner for a DRS.

After Mitchell, Williamson also reaches his fifty. It has been a complete and assured innings from the Kiwi captain so far. 

At the end of 25 overs, New Zealand are 161/2 and quietly making inroads. Indian fans will be slightly worried at this stage. Mitchell and Williamson look well-set on the crease.

Daryl Mitchell remains the dangerman for India s Mitchell racks up his half-century as NZ continue to cut the deficit.

India’s legendary batter Virat Kohli has scripted history he breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI hundreds in the World Cup semifinal contest. With his 50th ton, he now has the most hundreds in the 50-over format, most by any other batter while leapfrogged Tendulkar’s tally in his own backyard of Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium.

Kohli is nearing his landmark 50th ODI 100 as India aim at 400+ total. Shreyas Iyer has also joined the party with a fifty of his own. India has been sensational with the bat so far and having nine wickets in hand in last 10 overs, fireworks are expected for sure.

India on song here and Kohli has crossed Sachin’s record of most runs in one edition of the ODI World Cup.

India have crossed 200 and anything below 390-400 should disappoint them from here on as they have eight wickets left effectively. Kohli and Iyer have also added 50 runs – the third 50-run partnership of this innings.

50 for Kohli! Virat’s rich vein of form continues with another 50+ score in this World Cup and if he stays till the end, New Zealand would be looking down the barrel for sure. 

Gill has been unfortunate here with cramps and has retired hurt after scoring 79. Kohli, however, has been looking in great touch and nearing his 50 – another one in the tournament where he has already scored more than 600 runs.

Shubman Gill has been hit with cramps and has retired out after scoring 79.

India are not letting go of the charge and keeping the Kiwis on their toes. Gill is looking good for a hundred after scoring 3/4 of the runs already. Kohli, on the other hands, is playing typical innings where he doesn’t give opposition a chance to come back after he’s done.

Brilliant batting by India so far and they are firmly on top after the first overs with Shubman Gill batting on 50 and looking good for more runs. Kohli is there with him and every India fan in the world would be hoping for his 50th 100 today.

FIFTY for Gill! Fantastic innings by Shubman Gill in a big game at the biggest of the stages. He has managed the innings well and ensured the run-rate doesn’t come down after Rohit’s fall.

Rohit is gone but Gill continues playing his shots as India nears 100 in 10 overs. The start by Rohit and Gill has been the backbone of India’s good performances this tournament and the selfless batting by Rohit has just ensured that India always have early advantage.

WICKET! Rohit goes for one shot too many and perishes three short of another 50. Nonetheless, a great start once again by Indian openers as has been the case this tournament.

Another great start by India, especially Rohit, who is dealing in boundaries at the moment. He has already raced to 34 in a score of 45 with the help of three fours and three sixes. Gill, on the other end, is playing second-fiddle, and rightfully so.
